Runway 15-33 Construction Begins

We are pleased to announce that construction on Runway 15-33 began promptly as scheduled Monday morning and the closure schedule will remain the same as previously announced with the runway closed:

  • 8 a.m. Monday, May 6 to 3 p.m. Wednesday, May 8
    • 8 a.m. Monday, May 13 to 3 p.m. Wednesday, May 15
    • 8 a.m. Monday, May 20 to 3 p.m. Wednesday, May 22

After the above dates, the runway length will be shortened, but no closures are anticipated that will impact the traveling public.

This change will NOT extend the closure dates beyond the original scheduled closures for this year. The engineers will conduct an assessment at the end of this construction season to determine if adjustments need to be made to the 2025 project schedule.

We are very appreciative of the efforts of the FAA and the many partners involved in this project in expediting the review and approval of our Construction Safety and Phasing Plan and Obstruction Evaluation/Airport Airspace Analysis.

We continue to remain committed to maintaining transparency, staying in close communication with stakeholders and other impacted entities, and providing pertinent information as soon as it becomes available.

Other projects have continued to move forward, including passenger boarding bridge 3 repairs, replacement of passenger boarding bridge 7 and the Terminal Connector Project.

We sincerely appreciate your valued partnership and ongoing collaboration as we undertake this significant infrastructure project.
