Concord Coach Lines provides express bus service between Maine and Boston, with stops only at principal cities. Concord Coach Lines also offers service to the mid-coast region–Searsport, Belfast, Lincolnville, Camden, Rockport, Rockland, Waldoboro, Damariscotta, Wiscasset, Bath, and Brunswick. The Concord Coach Lines station is located adjacent to the airport, about three-quarters of a mile away. Although you could walk, we suggest you utilize a cab to transit between the terminal and Concord’s station.

Hancock County’s public transit provider offers shopping trips to Bar Harbor and Ellsworth, five-day-a-week bus service between Bar Harbor and Bangor, commuter service to the Jackson Laboratory, and midday shuttles in Bucksport, Bar Harbor, and Ellsworth. Downeast Transportation also operates the seasonal Island Explorer serving Acadia National Park, Mount Desert Island towns, and Schoodic Peninsula.

West’s Coastal Connection drops off at the Bangor International Airport year-round at 1:15 pm and departs at 2:15 p.m. going to Calais and makings stops at Ellsworth, Machias, and Perry enroute. The bus will also let you off and/or will make flag stops in Hancock, Sullivan, Gouldsboro, Milbridge, Columbia Falls, Jonesboro, Whiting, Dennysville, and Pembroke. This is the classic Route 1 connection to Downeast Maine. (To utilize a FLAG STOP, please make yourself visible near the curb. Place your luggage beside the road and wave the bus to a stop.)
