Airfield Maintenance Electrician

The City of Bangor is seeking an Airfield Maintenance Electrician to join the team at Bangor International Airport. This skilled position plays an important role in keeping critical airport electrical systems operating safely and reliably, with responsibility for diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems throughout the terminal, airport facilities, and airfield.

Responsibilities include maintaining and repairing airfield lighting and electrical distribution systems, emergency generators, lighting regulators, parking lot and facility lighting, fire alarm and security systems, and other specialized airport electrical equipment. The position also performs electrical renovations and installations, conducts routine inspections and testing, responds to electrical emergencies, and may assist with snow removal operations when needed.

Candidates must hold a State of Maine Journeyman or Master Electrician license, with preference given to Master Electricians. Journeyman Electricians who demonstrate the ability and commitment to advance to a Master Electrician license are encouraged to apply. This position requires strong troubleshooting skills, the ability to work independently and respond to emergencies, and the ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions. Candidates must also successfully complete required airport background and fingerprint-based criminal history checks.

Curbside/Ramp Security (Part-Time)

The City of Bangor is seeking a part-time Curbside Security professional to join the team at Bangor International Airport. This position plays an important role in maintaining a safe, secure, and welcoming environment for passengers by supporting airport security compliance, curbside operations, and customer service throughout the terminal.

Responsibilities include monitoring curbside and parking areas, assisting travelers with directions and special needs, enforcing airport parking regulations, conducting security patrols and inspections, monitoring access control points, and supporting airport compliance activities while working closely with airport staff and public safety partners.

This position requires strong customer service skills, sound judgment, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced airport environment. Candidates should be comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions, walking and standing for extended periods, and maintaining a professional presence while helping ensure the safety and security of airport operations.

Aviation Service Agent

The City of Bangor is seeking an Aviation Service Agent to join the team at Bangor International Airport. This skilled, customer-focused position plays an important role in supporting aircraft, passengers, and crews arriving at BGR, coordinating the many services necessary to keep flights moving smoothly while providing a high level of service to airport customers.

Responsibilities include coordinating aircraft arrivals and departures with airport divisions, government agencies, vendors, and other partners; maintaining flight schedules and service information; dispatching fuel and aircraft service requests; and assisting passengers and crews with catering, hotels, ground transportation, and other needs. Aviation Service Agents also process customer transactions, assist with flight and fuel reconciliation, communicate with aircraft via radio, operate airport courtesy and shuttle vehicles, and help coordinate passenger handling for ad-hoc and charter flights.

Successful candidates will be professional, dependable, and comfortable multitasking in a fast-paced aviation environment while providing excellent customer service. A high school diploma, GED, or vocational school education and a valid State of Maine driver’s license with a clean driving record are required; previous office, customer service, and cash or credit card transaction experience is preferred. Candidates must be willing to work midnight and other assigned shifts, successfully complete required training and certifications, pass a ten-year background check and pre-employment drug screening.

Airport Ramp Attendant (Part-Time)

BGR Aviation (BGR’s FBO) is seeking dependable, hard-working individuals to join our Ramp Services team in a part-time role (6:00 AM – 10:00 AM, 16 hours per week). This position plays a key role in supporting daily mail cargo operations while also assisting with the servicing of a variety of aircraft.

In this hands-on role, you’ll be responsible for tasks such as loading and unloading cargo, marshalling aircraft, fueling, and completing basic documentation and equipment checks. It’s a fast-paced environment that requires attention to detail, a strong commitment to safety, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

The ideal candidate brings a strong work ethic, a customer-focused mindset, and the ability to perform moderate to heavy physical work in a variety of weather conditions. A valid State of Maine driver’s license with a clean driving record is required, along with the ability to pass a background check and pre-employment screening.

Ramp Supervisor: UPS

BGR Aviation (BGR’s FBO) is seeking a motivated and experienced leader to join our team as a Ramp Supervisor, with a primary focus on UPS operations. This role is responsible for overseeing daily ramp activities, leading a team of ramp personnel, and ensuring safe, efficient service for our weekday mail cargo operations. Schedule is Tuesday–Friday, 6:00 AM – 4:00 PM.

As a working supervisor, you’ll lead by example—supporting aircraft fueling, movement, and cargo operations while coordinating staff, managing schedules, and maintaining compliance with all regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate brings prior supervisory experience in aviation or a related field, strong leadership and communication skills, and a commitment to safety and service excellence.

Airport Temporary Snow Removal

The City of Bangor is currently seeking qualified applicants for temporary Snow Removal positions at Bangor International Airport. These positions are responsible for the safe and effective removal of snow and ice from airport runways, parking lots, and related areas using heavy equipment including snowplows, blowers, sweepers, and front-end loaders.

Candidates should be able to safely manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced, safety-sensitive environment while following required procedures for working in Air Traffic Controlled areas. This position requires strong situational awareness, effective radio communication, sound decision-making, and the ability to prioritize competing responsibilities while operating equipment and responding to changing airfield and weather conditions.

Applicants must have the flexibility to respond to airport emergencies on a 24-hour basis and work prolonged hours in adverse weather conditions. These temporary, seasonal positions are expected to run from November 16, 2026 through April 10, 2027.

Airfield Maintenance Technician

The City of Bangor is seeking an Airfield Maintenance Technician to join the team at Bangor International Airport. This position plays a vital role in maintaining the airport’s runways, taxiways, ramps, buildings, grounds, and equipment that keep airport operations running safely and efficiently throughout the year.

In this hands-on role, you’ll operate a variety of trucks and heavy equipment while performing pavement repairs, maintaining runway lighting and airfield markings, mowing and groundskeeping, repairing fencing, and assisting with snow and ice removal during Maine winters. Candidates should enjoy working outdoors in all seasons, have strong mechanical aptitude, and be ready to respond to changing operational needs in a fast-paced airport environment.
