Curbside/Ramp Security (Part-Time)

The City of Bangor is seeking a part-time Curbside Security professional to join the team at Bangor International Airport. This position plays an important role in maintaining a safe, secure, and welcoming environment for passengers by supporting airport security compliance, curbside operations, and customer service throughout the terminal.

Responsibilities include monitoring curbside and parking areas, assisting travelers with directions and special needs, enforcing airport parking regulations, conducting security patrols and inspections, monitoring access control points, and supporting airport compliance activities while working closely with airport staff and public safety partners.

This position requires strong customer service skills, sound judgment, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced airport environment. Candidates should be comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions, walking and standing for extended periods, and maintaining a professional presence while helping ensure the safety and security of airport operations.

Fuel Farm Supervisor

Bangor International Airport is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Fuel Supervisor to lead Fuel Farm operations and support the safe, efficient handling of aviation fuel systems critical to daily airport operations.

Responsibilities include supervising the receipt, storage, transfer, testing, and quality control of aviation fuels; overseeing inspection, maintenance, and repair of fuel systems and related equipment; supporting environmental compliance efforts; and coordinating emergency response activities as part of the Spill Response Team. This position also supervises Fuel Farm personnel, supports safety and training programs, and helps maintain safe and efficient fuel operations across airport facilities.

Candidates must be able to respond to emergencies on a 24-hour basis and perform work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions. Applicants must possess a valid driver’s license, pass a 10-year background check, obtain required airport security clearances, and comply with PHMSA drug and alcohol testing requirements.

Seasonal Maintenance Assistant

Bangor International Airport is seeking a dependable Seasonal Maintenance Assistant. If you’re looking for a hands-on opportunity to gain experience working around airport systems and operations, this is a great chance to be part of what keeps BGR moving every day.

In this role, you’ll assist with monitoring and adjusting the airport’s inline baggage conveyor system, helping ensure passenger baggage moves safely and efficiently through the terminal. Responsibilities include monitoring system performance, responding to minor operational issues, and assisting with preventive maintenance and basic troubleshooting of baggage handling equipment.

This seasonal position follows a unique schedule built around airline activity and peak flight times, with flexibility to shift an hour earlier or later as operational needs change. Candidates should be comfortable performing moderate to heavy physical work, including lifting, bending, stooping, and equipment operation in a noisy operational environment where protective equipment is provided.

Airport Ramp Attendant (Part-Time)

BGR Aviation (BGR’s FBO) is seeking dependable, hard-working individuals to join our Ramp Services team in a part-time role (6:00 AM – 10:00 AM, 16 hours per week). This position plays a key role in supporting daily mail cargo operations while also assisting with the servicing of a variety of aircraft.

In this hands-on role, you’ll be responsible for tasks such as loading and unloading cargo, marshalling aircraft, fueling, and completing basic documentation and equipment checks. It’s a fast-paced environment that requires attention to detail, a strong commitment to safety, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

The ideal candidate brings a strong work ethic, a customer-focused mindset, and the ability to perform moderate to heavy physical work in a variety of weather conditions. A valid State of Maine driver’s license with a clean driving record is required, along with the ability to pass a background check and pre-employment screening.

This is a Ford L8000 dump truck, likely from the early to mid-1990s. The truck belongs to the Bangor International Airport (BGR) fleet in Maine, as indicated by the "BGR BANGOR" logo and "453" unit number on the door. It is used for airfield maintenance.

Airfield Maintenance Technician

The City of Bangor is seeking an Airfield Maintenance Technician to join the team at Bangor International Airport. This position plays a critical role in maintaining airport grounds, pavements, buildings, lighting systems, and operational equipment to support safe and efficient airport operations year-round.

Responsibilities include performing repairs and maintenance on airport infrastructure, operating a variety of trucks and heavy equipment, maintaining pavement markings, mowing and groundskeeping, repairing runway lighting and fencing, and assisting with snow and ice removal operations during winter weather events.

This position requires the ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, respond to airport emergencies as needed, and safely operate specialized equipment in an active airfield environment. Candidates should have strong mechanical aptitude, the ability to work independently, and a willingness to learn airport maintenance and safety procedures within federally regulated operational areas.

Ramp Supervisor: UPS

BGR Aviation (BGR’s FBO) is seeking a motivated and experienced leader to join our team as a Ramp Supervisor, with a primary focus on UPS operations. This role is responsible for overseeing daily ramp activities, leading a team of ramp personnel, and ensuring safe, efficient service for our weekday mail cargo operations. Schedule is Tuesday–Friday, 6:00 AM – 4:00 PM.

As a working supervisor, you’ll lead by example—supporting aircraft fueling, movement, and cargo operations while coordinating staff, managing schedules, and maintaining compliance with all regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate brings prior supervisory experience in aviation or a related field, strong leadership and communication skills, and a commitment to safety and service excellence.
