BGR to Close Oct. 4-5 for Runway Repairs

BANGOR, Maine — Bangor International Airport will close for runway repairs Oct. 4-5.

The runway is currently in safe working condition, but there are a few areas requiring attention during Maine’s short construction season. This includes ASR work — alkali-silica reaction occurs in the concrete and creates deformations in the runway. The runway closure is necessary so that work can be done to relieve that pressure and properly fix those areas.

If passengers who already had booked flights haven’t been contacted by their airlines yet, they are Travelers who have not been contacted are encouraged to reach out to their air carriers for more information.
