2025 Runway Construction Schedule
As we step into 2025, I want to take a moment to reflect on the progress we’ve made and look ahead to what’s next. Last year was filled with significant projects aimed at improving the experience here at BGR, and while we achieved a lot, there’s still more to accomplish.
One of the biggest undertakings remains the rehabilitation of our runway, which had reached the end of its useful life. In 2024, we successfully completed the first half of this critical project. Along the way, we learned valuable lessons that have helped us better prepare for the second and final phase, scheduled for the 2025 construction season.
To help you plan, here are the key dates when the runway will be closed for crews to safely and efficiently complete their work:
16-Hour Closures:
- 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 22 – 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 23
- 7 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 9 – 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 10
55-Hour Closures:
- 8 a.m. Monday, April 28 – 3 p.m. Wednesday, April 30
- 8 a.m. Monday, May 5 – 3 p.m. Wednesday, May 7
- 8 a.m. Monday, May 12 – 3 p.m. Wednesday, May 14
- 8 a.m. Monday, May 19 – 3 p.m. Wednesday, May 21
- 8 a.m. Monday, June 2 – 3 p.m. Wednesday, June 4
- 8 a.m. Monday, June 9 – 3 p.m. Wednesday, June 11
- 8 a.m. Monday, June 16 – 3 p.m. Wednesday, June 18
After these closures, the runway will be shortened for the remainder of the project, but we don’t anticipate any further disruptions to the traveling public.
